HEARING LOSS

If you or a loved one may be having difficulty hearing, you are not alone. With an estimated 15% of the adult population having some degree of hearing loss (from NIDCD/CDC), hearing loss is one of the most common health conditions we face.

You can't see it, you can't touch it and people with hearing loss often can't hear it. The majority of people with hearing loss don't notice it until it is very severe, although those around them often notice. Simply put, you don't know what you didn't hear because you didn't hear it.

Hearing loss for most people is permanent and can't be reversed. However, certain medical conditions may be treatable. It is important to see an audiologist as soon as hearing loss is suspected. If treatment is possible, we can improve your hearing right away or direct you to someone who can. If hearing loss is permanent, we can offer advice to help avoid future hearing loss.

Not everyone who has hearing loss is a candidate for hearing aids. The first step is to have an exam. It is painless and easy and will provide you with information to make future decisions about your hearing. If you suspect hearing loss for yourself or a loved one, please contact us right away so we can answer your questions and help make sure it doesn't get worse.

Untreated hearing loss can lead to social isolation, cognitive decline and even life-threatening misunderstandings. Have your hearing checked today.
